As usual the Elba rally
has been a really good one also this year. I will always say in my opinion
this is the best really in the season. The reasons are simple: first of
all it takes place in a very beautiful place, the Morcone Bay, that considering
we are just come off the winter gives you an anticipation of the summer
you couldn't find anywhere else. And also because it is superbly organized
by the club Green Onions S.C. with do's often offering musical celebrities
on stage and some attracting rides for scooters' and people's pleasure.
This year Italy was literally
under the rain, but our small isle has only seen three days of sun and
warm temperature which has allowed someone the first season's bath in the
cold sea.
To be remarked the accident
occourred to a lad from Thunderballs S.C. just a few miles from the rally,
when some 'impatient' motorcyclist willing to show his riding skills (very
little really) has touched the scooter's steering with the bike making
the scooterist loose control of the bike which has ended his run hitting
a pole aside of the road. Not very funny for the terrified scooterist mates
who has seen the fact, as you can see from the pics the bike is badly damaged
but fortunately the scooterist has suffered not much injuries. Personally
I had never seen such a damaged bike.
Back to the rally I have
particularly appreciated the show of a female musical trio on the beach
and the quality of the scooters entered, amongst which there were some
really nice from England this year even more attending the rally than previously.
Maybe the Isle of Elba
can become an alternative to the Isle of Wight rally; some number are impossible
to reach in Italy, but the organizers have told me this year they saw an
increase in attendants of 10%, sign the well organized events are well
attended. |
