Isle of Wight 2008

After a long summer preparing our scooters for the event, just to make sure we would have finish them in due time, we loaded them up in the van late at night just after put the last nut on them. In the van because we had done scooters not really suitable for such a long distant journey. Expecially when you realized the cost of chrome, mirrors and light you have put on them.
The isle of Wight is as usual the top rally of the season, lots and lots of scooters of great interest and inspiration either.
I had restored my TV200, with the help and co-operation on my colleagues at work not really common we can say (it is in the picture nr.1), and it was the first time after a long break that I was riding a Mod Lambretta - or to say it all it was the first time I rode a proper one, as the others in the early days were mostly influenced by the lack of funds to do them up as a young mod - .
Us of the Rimini Lambretta Centre have had also the satisfaction of seeing one of our restos being awarded of 'Best Mod Scooter' in the custom show at the Ise Rink; this has been 'All Mod Cons' Colin's GT200.
When another brilliant rally was over, we have headed to Dean's father house in Cornwall. Seen that I was the only one who had to come back in Italy after a short while, I brought in the van my Vespa GTS 300 to do the trip back onto. Also to give it a proper test as I had done it some times on a Lambretta but never on a modern bike. I know this is not the right place for this kind of scooter, but I think pics and my experience can be of interest for others.
So I have done the trip from the Isle of Wight to Bodmin and after a couple of days, in which I had the opportunity to visit the new Eden project and what remains of Tintagle King Arthur's castle, from Bodmin to my house that I have reached just after a trouble free ride of 48 hours. Another great experience and still waiting for those to come!
