1971 Supertune GP 200 replica

This is my Supertune GP 200 replica fitted with Honda piston (205 cc.), 28mm. Dell'Orto PHBH carb., AF 12V. stator plate, 42mm. Clubman exhaust. When I purchased the bike in 1987, it seemed to be a GP125 as for the prefix on the engine; in those days we didn't know a 200 had 22/2 frame or the numbers started from 250...; the prefix on the engine case had been altered to say it was a 125 and I realized this when I stripped the engine down, looking at the big piston I found out it was really a 200, no points but a pick up. In fact I even didn't know the red box was the coil for the ignition!

The inspiration for building this bike was given to me by an old video of scooter racing at the Isle of Man scooter week, featuring the sporting exploits of the "Manchester Lyons Lambretta Club" of the late sixties. I have been in touch with Eddie Yates, a member then and now, after a feature of my bikes by "Scootering Magazine" and as my Lambretta is the exact replica of one belonged to an old member, he told me I needed a banner to complete it.

The "Lyons" are one of the longest established Club in U.K. and they're on the scene since 1957

 Update 13/10/2003
I've finally found a A.F. lightened electronic flywheel I was long time looking for; will be fitted in a few days to complete the project!
