Lambretta GP 250 Super "S" type

Owner ; Richard Salter

Town / Country ;  Midsomer Norton, Near Bath, UK.

Scooter Club; Exit 17 SC. Meet Lambretta Bar, Bath.

Scooter model ; Lambretta GP 200

Engine ; Taffspeed road tuned TS1 200. Yamaha Piston. GP Crank with RD400 con rod. SX200 engine casing and gearbox. 30 mm Flatslide Dell'Orto carb, Yamaha Reedblock + MBD Inlet Manifold. Jahspeed exhaust. MBD Electronic Ignition.

Paintwork ; Green/Gold Metalflake + signwriting & graphics. Originally sprayed in around 1980.

Specialised Parts ;  MBD Twin tank conversion. Quick action throttle.
Inspiration ; Always wanted a GP. Rescued bodywork from a friend who was going to paint it matt black after a tip off from Paul at Get Smart Scooters, who used to own it. Spent many hours carefully rubbing back the paintwork to get it all re-lacquered. The 250 engine has long since disappeared so I used a standard SX200 for a while but have now just completed a TS1 conversion.

Build by; Owner during many, many evenings in my garage, with expert advice and assistance from Paul at Get Smart Scooters in Bristol.
Hardest part of the project ; Waiting while the chromers pissed me about.

Anything to add ; A few more small parts chromed, decent rear shock.
What other scooter do you have ? ; 1984 Malossi P210 and a Cometa (in bits).
