My Epic Lambretta
This is scooter that has travelled more kilometres with me than any other Lambretta in my collection.

Questa è la mia Lambretta storica.
Non è stata la prima Lambretta che ho avuto. È arrivata cinque anni dopo la prima, ma è sicuramente quella che mi ha accompagnato più fedelmente in giro per l'Europa senza mai lasciarmi a piedi.
Con lei ho percorso migliaia e migliaia di chilometri, sia nei grandi viaggi sia nella vita di tutti i giorni.
Anche la sua storia è particolare.
Apparteneva infatti ad un grande amico di mio padre e il ragazzino che vedete ritratto nelle fotografie di questa pagina è stato il mio migliore amico durante tutta l'infanzia.
La Lambretta è entrata a far parte della mia vita nel 1987.
Come quasi tutte le Lambrette di quel periodo, il primo restauro fu realizzato in perfetto stile anni Ottanta: una versione "custom", come andava di moda allora.
Nel 1993 decisi però di riportarla completamente alle condizioni originali Innocenti.
Da quel momento ha ricevuto soltanto pochissimi aggiornamenti:
- l'aggiunta di qualche dettaglio in rosso;
- un pistone nuovo con relativa rettifica nel 1999.
L'ultimo grande viaggio insieme è stato nel 2010, quando mi ha portato fino all'Eurolambretta di Gijón, in Spagna.
Era rimasta ferma per quasi due anni, ma è partita senza esitazioni e ha percorso oltre 4.000 chilometri in dieci giorni senza il minimo problema.
Poi nel 2025 ho pensato fosse ora che tornasse a percorrere qualche chilometro assieme a me, per cui mi ha come al solito portato senza problemi al raduno dell'Isola d'Elba, al ritorno dal quale è stata completamente smontata ed alla quale è stata fatta una totale pulizia e manutenzione dopo tanti anni di viaggi, prima di essere rimontata.
La verniciatura mostra i suoi anni, ma lo scooter è in perfette condizioni, come io voglio che sia.

This is my epic Lambretta.
It was not the first Lambretta I owned. I bought it five years after my first one, but this is the scooter that has faithfully carried me all over Europe without ever giving me any trouble.
It has covered thousands and thousands of kilometres, both during everyday commuting and on long European journeys.
Its history is quite special too.
It originally belonged to a good friend of my father, and the little boy you see in the photographs on this page was my best friend throughout my childhood.
I have owned this Lambretta since 1987.
Like many Lambrettas during the late eighties, it first received a "custom" restoration, which was almost compulsory fashion at the time.
In 1993 I restored it once again, this time bringing it completely back to its original Innocenti specification.
Since then it has changed very little.
- A few red details were added.
- A new piston and relative rebore was done in 1999.
The last major journey together was in 2010, when it took me all the way to the Spanish Eurolambretta in Gijón.
After standing unused for almost two years, it started immediately and completed more than 4,000 kilometres in ten days without a single mechanical problem.
Then in 2025 I thought it was time for her to do some more road with me, so it brought me without any troubles as usual to the Isle of Elba rally and once back I've completely stripped, cleaned and overhauled it as it deserved after many years on the road, before being rebuild.
The paintwork shows its age, but the scooter is in pristine condition as I want it to be.
Travelling Memories
This SX200 is another scooter that accompanied me most of my life, doing holidays, rallies across Europe and thousands of kilometres in my everyday life.
Every scratch is part of its history.
