Se penso a Troyes, la cosa che immediatamente mi salta in mente è lo Champagne. La regione dove è situata è famosa proprio perché da essa prende il nome il celebre vino, che non è il risultato di uve speciali, ma di uno speciale metodo di fermentazione.

Se poi considerate che ho trascorso la settimana precedente al Jamboree nella non lontana Parigi, converrete con me che è stata davvero una bellissima vacanza.

Ricordo ancora la notte ridereccia trascorsa a cena con gli amici olandesi, al termine della quale non eravamo esattamente sobri, il lungo giro sulle colline francesi con la sosta presso un produttore di Champagne per vedere come viene realizzato il vino e, naturalmente, Troyes con il suo magnifico centro storico, dove le case sono costruite interamente in legno.

Ogni anno c'era qualcosa di nuovo e di rimarchevole da scoprire.

Whenever I think about Troyes, the first thing that comes to mind is Champagne. The region is famous throughout the world because it gave its name to the celebrated sparkling wine, made special not by the grapes themselves but by its unique method of fermentation.

Considering that I had spent the previous week in nearby Paris before travelling to the Jamboree, you'll agree that it turned into a wonderful holiday.

I still remember the hilarious evening spent having dinner with our Dutch friends, by the end of which we were certainly not completely sober, the long ride through the rolling French hills, stopping at a Champagne producer to see how the wine is made, and finally Troyes itself, with its beautiful historic centre where many of the old houses are built entirely of timber.

Every year brought something new and something worth remembering.
