ENGLISH

After the terrible journey experience to Gijón for the Euro Lambretta and my step out from the Rimini Lambretta Centre, my desire to travel to Lambretta events was let's say dormant for quite some time.

Must be also said that the need to find a new job or rather, different jobs, before finding the right one, severely limited my possibility to organise my own travels. In any case, that wasn't the main issue.

Then came the chance to hit the road again on a fairly short trip, alongside friends and former customers who had formed their own scooter club, driven by nothing other than friendship and a shared passion. No frills, no politics, just Lambrettas and good times together.

The goal of reaching Perugia for a historical reenactment of a street circuit race was the deciding factor in helping me shake off my lingering gloom; I decided to embark on this trip with a group of people whose company I truly enjoy.

As I mentioned, it was a fairly short trip so it took us just a few hours to arrive in Perugia and on Saturday evening we headed out to the beautiful city center for dinner.

The following morning, everything was set up in a flash for the event. Strictly a reenactment of course, yet featuring race officials and an organizational setup worthy of a proper race. There was an impressive lineup of significant motorcycles and, to top it all off, a Rumi Formichino "Bol d'Or" belonging to a well known local scooter collector. I really appreciated the impeccable organization and the convivial atmosphere; the event wrapped up by early afternoon, and we made the short return journey without a hitch.
