1989 STRASBOURG

The First Euro Lambretta of the new era • France

The First Euro Lambretta

Strasbourg marked the beginning of a new chapter in modern Lambretta history. It was the first Euro Lambretta meeting and the first opportunity for enthusiasts from all over Europe to meet, exchange ideas and celebrate a common passion.

ITALIANO

ENGLISH

The first rally of a new era. I heard about it by word of mouth at the various parts fairs towards the end of 1988. I had been waiting for something similar for a long time and thought I simply couldn't miss it.

The place had to be Strasbourg, partly because of that European feeling that was in the air during those years, but also because it was roughly the same distance from all the countries interested in attending the event.

I travelled there by car, loading the scooter inside. Once we arrived, the atmosphere was incredibly exciting; meeting people from different countries and sharing the same passion for scooters was something completely new.

It was funny to see older Italians looking with curiosity at the shiny English custom scooters, while young English riders admired the beautifully restored early Italian open-frame models, realising they were not bad at all.

A new era for scootering had just begun, and we sincerely hope it lasts for a long time.
